The West Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church envisions all people on a journey of Christ-like holiness. To be holy is to belong to God, to be filled by God, and to serve God.

Welcome!

As District Superintendent, I encourage you to take a few minutes to experience ministry in Southern West Virginia. Our congregations vary in size, ages and locations. We have churches who have very formal worship and others that are on the leading edges of contemporary worship. Regardless of our size or style of worship, we have one vision:

To love God with our whole heart, to serve God by serving our neighbor, and to give witness of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

This is what makes us church. In the words of the hymn "I am the church. You are the church. We are the church together." Thanks be to God!

Helen

Daily prayer for Friday, September 3, 2010:

Dear Jesus, I come to you today longing for your presence. I desire to love you as You love me. May nothing ever separate me from You. "I am free." When I look at these words in writing, they create a feeling of awe within me. Thank you for freedom. I know the scripture states that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Where do I sense hope, encouragement, and growth areas in my life? By looking back over the last few months, I may be able to see which activities and occasions have produced rich fruit. If I do notice such areas, I will determine to give those areas both time and space in the future. Sometimes I wonder what I might say if I were to meet you in person Lord. I think I might say "Thank You Lord" for always being there for me. I know with certainty there were times when you carried me, Lord, when it was through your strength I got through the dark times in my life. For now Lord, I can only say thank you and I love. In Jesus' name. Amen.
